Dr. Mark Hyman: How to Cut Your Food Addiction


In this Big Think clip, Mark Hyman shares the latest on the emerging science of food addiction: sugar and processed foods stimulate the same regions in the brain as cocaine and heroin. Hyman claims you can overcome food addiction and disease by learning how to work with your biology and treating food as medicine. Hyman suggests that we replace most prescription medicine with healthy foods such as eggs, protein shakes, nuts, vegetables, beans, seeds, lean chicken or fish, rice, sweet potato, and quinoa.
