Deep Resilience: Tapping into the Wisdom of Your True Self
In our daily lives, we often define ourselves by our roles, achievements, and beliefs. However, another perspective suggests that we are complex systems composed of various parts, each possessing its own form of intelligence. The Deep Resilience Method encourages connecting with our ‘deep self’—the awareness beneath thoughts and emotions that observes and chooses responses.
Traditionally, we distinguish between the ‘body’ and the ‘mind,’ with the latter often referred to as the ‘thinking mind’ or ‘ego.’ This thinking mind excels in logic, planning, and problem-solving but operates primarily on survival-based patterns. In contrast, our deeper nature can observe both body and mind, serving as the core of our being.
Embracing deep resilience involves befriending the mind and all aspects of ourselves with understanding and respect. While the thinking mind is valuable, it should not lead our system unchecked. Allowing our deep self to guide us enables living in alignment with our values, driven by love and wisdom rather than fear.
Our deeper self embodies seven distinct qualities:
- Love: Compassion and kindness toward ourselves and others.
- Clarity: Insight and understanding beyond conditioned thought.
- Peace: Inner calm unaffected by external circumstances.
- Playful Curiosity: Open, non-judgmental exploration of experiences.
- Courage: Confidence to face challenges authentically.
- Fulfillment: Contentment arising from within.
- Connection: A sense of belonging to something greater.
These inherent qualities constitute our wisdom or spiritual intelligence. By accessing and embodying them, we cultivate deep resilience, leading to a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
